Oh good.

If you're going to be there, then I don't have to look pretty.

There'll already be plenty of that, around.

Already down south of you and yes I would drive up if there were no major time conflicts with that thing called work..

I'll be there.

Don't expect me to look pretty, though.

How close to SEATAC are you?

Yeah, we're thinking mid summer.

We are 70-90 minutes drive from SeaTac Airport.  Lots of shuttles run South through Tacoma to Olympia.  Those are the two cities nearest Yelm, which is where the Fest would be.

There is one Motel in Yelm and a few bed and breakfasts in the area.  Check the Yelm Chamber of Commerce website for info.

We have lots of room for tents, motor homes, sleeping bags...couple of showers people would be free to use. Good sized open sided pole building with a good roof, but people would need an air matress to crash there - concrete slab in most of it.

We don't have a genuine Indian guru teachin' us a better way, but we might by then.

I'm only 10 minutes from SeaTac at 4 AM, 45 min at 4 PM <G>.

I'd be willing to pick up a few who wanted to stay near or south of the airport (3, no big van, that is licensed anyway) for the jaunt down to Jim's.

Biggest caveat is if I'm even in town then/whenever, have not been home 2 weeks straight since Jan 2007, so could not depend on me more than a few day ahead of time, and sometimes not even that much notice.

Heads up for anyone who would come into Seatac and thinking of renting a car.  By spring 2009, rail to downtown whould be up and running.  Renting a car downtown can save $15 a DAY in TAXES/city/port fees!

If not on travel, I'll be there.  Thought I'd be at the last 2 JLC live expos also, but was out of town.

Also would have space in back for a few trailers, elec hookup but no sewer. One mi. East of Renton

just a suggestion to the flyers - when checking out flights, see if there are any deals into Spokane - take the scenic drive across central Washington - spectacular - so alien to eastern US sensibilities -

that's my tentative plan -

I hope y'all can have one up there - I think it's time.

But unless my XW and her lawyer start taking Prozak the chances that I could afford to go are virtually zero.

Hey Ron!  You're back!  A black sheep, returned to the fold.

Hooray!

So what's the deal?  Is there a story behind your rebirth on BT?

I thought you'd never ask!

Joyce is wondering how many times we need to say "sure thing, we're in"?

thanks.

jim....nice to have a glutton for punishment still willing to step forward...

we're interested... but let me reiterate my usual ...

the best turnouts have been those that  fell on the third weekend in August...

earlier dates start bumping up against "trying like mad to finish projects"

typical jobs for us are in full bore in July... things are under control in August.... and the mad rush of trying to get  jobs rolling in the early fall hasn't occured yet

the last weekend in august is too close to Labor Day

the second weekend in august is still at the high point of our building season

3d weekend has  pretty much had good turnouts, but does conflict with some school start schedules

i think that July would diminish your turnout and urge you to think about 2d or 3d weekend in August

mid-summer ( July ) for us is high anxiety construction season

but hey, whadda i no ?

The issue next summer might be that no one has a nickel to travel with, not that people are rushing to finish work.

I might be able to head south....cheers,Phil.

and those that do have work will have the same old problem... so what is the best date for the best turn-out ?

i've been to every one... some had 8 people... some had 70....
the ones with more people are more fun

Think they have a golf course over there?

I assume the rough would be pretty thick.

I talked to Brian.  I'd rather not speak for him, but he said he's lost interest in hosting. Gave us the thumbs up to start planning.

Not assuming that makes us the hosts, but it's time to get the planning started and I haven't seen much chatter on the bpard about it.  We'll still throw all our support behind whatever site the group decides on and try to attend.  But if it's here, we'd like that settled.

the only contendas were you, Brian , &  Pete

and Pete was talking about the 10th reunion... which to me is  2000  + ten years = 2010..... not  2009

so ... my vote would be   CrazyLegs Fest !

I would also think that Pete needs to take care of family right now. I don't think that a fest is what he needs.
He will be a much better host in 2010.
But that's my opinion.
I think Pete needs to talk for himself.
