ok (post #205674, reply #1 of 59)

We're signing up.  Joyce and I will be there.

However, we cannot bring horseshoes or stakes this time, as we are forced to fly as joyce cannot get off in time enough to drive-that damn other girl puts her name on the damn vaca. calendar as soon as it's put up.  Now, this opens it wide for any and all potential victims to take on this formidable horseshoe duo.  Not our stakes, not our shoes.

So, if you've got a bigger mouth than I or a wife prettier than mine-please join in.

Thank you to you two and of course the other two for hosting this year!   We had a super good time at the last one and are expecting to better that this year.

May god have mercy on your souls.

Shoes (post #205674, reply #2 of 59)

Aren't horse shoes allowed as carry-on items? You just put them on the plastic trays going through TSA scan. Just watch the other people and do what they do.

Well, I guess so.......... (post #205674, reply #3 of 59)

I just don't want to have the plane tilt to one side...........

Go see a shrink... (post #205674, reply #5 of 59)

Tell him or her, in your best psycho-babble, how attached you are to your horseshoe set, and how the presence of your set of horseshoes calms and comforts you. Your shrink will then write you a letter that you can present to the TSA, allowing you to take your horsehoe set on board the airplane with you.

It's how I fly carry-on with my machete collection.

Or maybe Joyce can wear the horseshoes as earings and you can duct tape the stakes to your back and claim they are a scoleosis brace.

Shoes (post #205674, reply #24 of 59)

MIke,

Regarding the horseshoes. Do you have a set?  If not, I will find some.  I'll never hear the end of it from Calvin if there are no shoes.

You'll never hear the end of it if you hide in R.I. and we have to sleep on the beach.

Road(kill) Fest (post #205674, reply #17 of 59)

Is there a web page somewhere with 2012 Fest info?  Geez,it's mid May already.

Hey - anyone see this teenage musician Noah Gutherie?  Pretty danged good.

No Fest? (post #205674, reply #26 of 59)

Okay, so maybe the headline WAS a little dramatic, but admit it, it got your attention.

Point being, I remember a lone voice echoing down through the years as we built traditions of perversion and debauchery..."...no t-shirts, no Fest".

W(ho)TF was that lone voice, anyways?

Could have been Scott Madson.  I clearly remember  him at the initial tented event in the Heartland.  Somehow I don't think it was him, though   (although Scott was the only original Fester that I know for a fact was wined, dined, reclined, interviewed, and actually offered a job at FHB.  Believe it.)

Grant/Gunner? Gunner/Grant? No, I'm pretty sure it was before he (they?) joined in the (let's get) high jinx.

Andy Clifford?  Too busy meditating (and twistin' up a fresh one).

Pete?  Jeff Buck?  No, they were too busy painting their houses (red).

Calvin?  Rich Beckman? Ralph Wickland maybe? No, those names don't fit the crime (although I make a point of not gambling with any of those three).

Wait.  Was it Vince "the man with three hands" Carbone?  Might have been.

No.  Vince's style is more "buckle up baby, and don't stand too close, I got a story for you".  (Hey.  Did your Festers ever hear the one about Vince at the Cleveland airport and the badasss bartender explaining about the no-smoking in public places laws?Imagine that ,freakin' CLEVELAND having clean air laws!)

Geez.  "...no shirt, no Fest...no shirt, no Fest..." Who DID say that every year?

It will come to me.  Give me a second...

Hey, crazy legs, I thought  (post #205674, reply #29 of 59)

Hey, crazy legs,

I thought  because of home land security and the patraiot act we agreed to keep that story classified.
