Florida Fest?

Oak River Mike's picture

How many of us are in Floirda that we might consider one here?  Maybe not enough huh?

I would be interested if we ever got enough others to join in...

FWIW-

we've had a very casual lunch get-together the last few years here in NJ. We've even allowed guys from other states <G>

The last couple of years we've gone to a local tavern that has pretty good food as well. Its pretty low key, easy to plan (just start a thread here, and see how wants to come), and has drawn out guys who probably wouldn't, or couldn't, go to the "real" fest.

You may want to start with something like that.

I hear that you even let people from other countries in.........

This was during a certain Colorado mountain man's road trip last year. There was only 2 actual Jersey guys there- me and DonCanDo.

Plus he who must not be named, DelawareDave, and Novy.

Oh, and I met Oreo II.

Are you offering to host one?

I'm with Luka - Winter is generally slow, and many people would welcome the chance to get away.

Q: What do you call it when an Italian has one arm shorter than the other?
A: A speech impediment.

In all fairness I think the no beer thing was an honest mistake but it still was not right...

Right.

I'm not one to promote careless drinking.

But not one to push for abstinence either.

I've said for years that the fest should be held in the south, and in the middle of winter.

I think more people would show up.

People are less busy. And they would welcome a chance to get away from the winter weather.

.

.

It's all fun and games, until someone puts an eye out..

You are always welcome at Quittintime

.

It's a small world. Until you have to walk home...

Thanks for the ideas guys.

...and yes, its 84 here today and bright and sunny and its November!!!

I've said for years that the fest should be held in the south,

I really tried to go to the one in Memphis but had vehicle problems.
