JimBerry's picture

Hi everyone, I read somewhere recently that email marketing is being used by many businesses. But what is it and how is it done? Is it necessary for all businesses? Does anyone have any ideas on this? Thanks for any replies or feedback.

Here in the USA we call it SPAM. It's a great way to destroy any remnants of credibilty you might have left.

If used very judiciously I think it can maybe be effective, but if you screw it up you lose business.  Use extreme caution!

Email marketing (post #207171, reply #3 of 9)

Email marketing is helpful only if you email to lists that you generate yourself and clients voluntarily subscribe.  You also need to not do the emailing from your desktop email program (ie Outlook) but rather through and email marketing software program such as ConstantContact, VerticalResponse or MailChimp.  These services will ensure you are complying with all Spam related regulations and ensure the emails make it to your client's inbox.

Do you think that three links to your business is complying with Breaktime's SPAM GUIDELINES?

Your first trip here and you think you can bs a bs'er?

Come on.

If you're here to help and discuss solutions to problems, take part in discussions of technique etc, then accept my apologies but please, lose the advertising.

It doesn't hurt to list your background, but I think you might have just crossed into forbidden territory.

thanks.

Now I hope he takes a look at your tag line-

You put it right up front, no bs, list the qualifications, but you don't provide a link.

Me, I'm a little more mystical-not many people know where the Glass City is.  In fact, I think there's more than one.

I do add a little in the profile if someone's that interested, but again-no link.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, he's new.  I took a deeper look at his profile and he did check the boxes for Notification of Replies (though that's questionable if it in fact works).  So maybe, just maybe he's just a slightly misguided new member that might turn out to be the diamond in the rough.   God knows we could use a couple more informed members (no offense to the couple other informed members)

Thanks for the post but could you please tell me one more thing. I searched over the Internet and found three ways of email marketing using a List Broker, newsletter sponsorship and cost per acquisition. Which do you think is the best and why?

I hope this "response" will convince everyone that this poster is just another Spammer in disguise. As you can see the post
