I have a small renovation company and I would like to provide two different written warranties - one for general workmanship of my staff and another separate one for roofing.
We re-roof about half of the projects we work on and I have two roof projects this summer. Any help or pointing me in the right direction would be great - thanks.
Or if anyone knows of another forum where this question would be better answered please forward that on as well.
I find this forum doesn't have nearly the visits it had pre-forum overhaul (2009-10?). I personally hate using this one. Doesn't seem as user friendly as other forums i frequent (hunting, mountain biking skiing).

First you should find out (post #202141, reply #1 of 1)
First you should find out what implicit warranties may be required by your province, or "encouraged" by local trade organizations -- you don't want to conflict with those. Then you need to consider whether you'll be "self insured" from a warranty standpoint or buy bonding/insurance -- if you buy coverage the insurance company will dictate the warranty wording. (Remember, a failed roof can result in hundeds of thousands of dollars damage.) Then, hopefully, some folks here will post warranties they use or have seen. Also consult any trace organizations you belong to for model warranties.

Stand in line.
