arch. shingles no ryme or reason…but..
First time using dimensionals and I’m scared at how easy they are. Been using 3 tabs for years and I can’t break the habit of snapping lines. Anyway heres my question….I’ve got a lower roof intersecting the center of the main roof (perpendicular) and the lower roof ridge hits 31/2 feet down from the main roof ridge. The left side is going to finish higher then the right side (back corner out of square, old house,etc.,etc..) To meet them over the lower ridge can I cheat high side so the shingles over lap more then the recommended 51/2″ ???? I can do it with 3 tabs but can I do it with these??

You need to go the other way, dropping the higher ones. What ever you do - you are always safer decreasing the exposure and increasing the headlap.
Thanks for the quick reply. I'm pretty new to this forum but I guess now I know why everyone thinks you're the second coming. I'm curious, though, on how you feel about it. Care to comment??

I don't see any problem with fudging the shingles down a bit to make them line up. Just do it over several courses - not all at once.
