bartop hard
we built a bar and screwed up the finish. used oak flooring but how to sand smooth? edger worked unevenly. couldn't get it flat, then stain ok but varnish all wrong. Questions, how to sand a 2-foot wide bartop and what type of lacquer and how to apply? spray, brush?

Maybe for a final finish you should use bar coating?

use chemical stripper to remove the mess. sand with 6" random orbital using progressively finer grit until smooth. you'll need some hand/eye coordination. if you don't have that, i can't advise. finish with waterlox original, three coats minimum.
