How or where does one shop for bathroom fixtures, specifically self rimmed soaking tubs (ie 6 foot) and a self rimmed laudry tub to be set in a cabinet. The big box stores have next to none, maybe a laundry tub on legs and one soaking tub. My town has two showroom bathroom places with limited selection.
Do most builders just have a favorite tub they offer clients unless they know specificlly what they want? If so, do any of you have favorites. I would be willing to buy from a picture, wife not so much. I will presude her by saying , go find it ….. Another story.
Suggestions? Can I find better showrooms in cities like Seattle, Portland, Sacromento?

Go online first to Moen, Kohler, etc and look at what they have to offer. Then go into the "big city" and find someone like Fergusson that specializes in plumbing fixtures and purchase there. Listen to their advice thats one of the main reasons to use a company like that (may not be the cheapest but you get what you pay for)

Yes ...
Yea, that is more or less my process so far. Thanks for confirming I am not missing something. We have a Fergusson not far away, but not to much of a showroom. But it does give you an idea abotu brands.
You say Kohler and Moen. I have not seen a Moen soaking tub. Hmm. Many many homes in this area are installing Maax tubs. any thoughts?
You can get anything you want online and it will be delivered to your door step.
My wife won't be happy with anything they sell within 1000 miles ;)
Well Greg ...
Well Greg my wife does not care how far away it comes from, but she has to see it and touch it first. You are luck to be able to jsut see a picture of an item 1000 miles away and then buy it. I would need to drive my wife 1000 mile, see it and touch it, then ship it. LOL.
All that said, we have been looking on line as well. We have been to some open houses and sat in a couple of tubs (in this example of shopping), but have only seen two different tubs, one wrong shape the other with weird arm rests. GAve us a good idea, but ....
Weird ....
I was looking on line and found Kohler tubs to actually be cheaper than most. What is wrong with this picture? I would expect teh Kohler name to come with quality and price. If Kohler is a quality product, the choice may become easy. I have seen number of Maax products, but never heard of them.
