Biscuit joiner recommendation !!!

tomhawkins's picture

Hi all,

Looking to buy a Biscuit jointer and, based on your experience, would like some inputs on which brands and models you feel I should seriously consider.

It's here my interested: Festool Domino Joiner

If you're a Festool owner, would like to hear your experience with the extendable Festool durability and how they compare to other biscuit joiners you've tried.

I have a dewalt joiner (post #216280, reply #1 of 3)

I have a dewalt joiner that’s about 15 years old. Works well, but admittedly, I don’t use it routinely.

I've also got the DeWalt Biscuit Joiner.  I use it for a lot of projects and it has worked great.  One thing that it cannot do is cut Face Frame (FF) biscuit slots which are the smallest slots.  If you think you will need this feature then check brnads that have it.  I've never used Festool tools, kind of expensive for me.  I would not hesitate to buy another DeWalt.

I have the Domino XL and that (post #216280, reply #3 of 3)

I have the Domino XL and that is one Festool tool that I would buy again.  That said, it does not replace a standard buiscuit joiner.  The smaller domino joiner is just not worth it in my openion.  You can use all the dominos with the XL with a bit extention.

For standard buiscuits I like the Porter Cable and the cordless 18v Makita.
