cabinet doors-MDF or veneered MDF?
I’m building s et of framless cabinets. What is better to use for flush, full overlay doors, plain MDF, or wood veneered MDF. I am concerened about finish and durability.

The recipe for linoleum hasn't changed much in nearly 170 years, yet it's still one of the greenest floors money can buy.

If you paint-plain, if you stain-veneered.
If you're going to paint and think that the veneered would be a better choice to paint over? Beats me-seems like a waste of funds to cover it up. With the thin veneers you don't add very much real wood to the face of the sheet. If you don't veneer the edges-no gain there.
we just finished two separate projects involving over 100 cabinet doors of every imaginable size. one job used alkyd paint, the other pre-cat lacquer. we used mdf for all the doors except the really big ones which were made from ultralite mdf. of course, the mdf takes paint and lacquer extremely well. treating the cut edges with bondo was very time-consuming, though. my one concern is the durability of the edges of the panels; they seem to get beat up easily....
If the cabinets are to be used daily or there are young kids in the house, I would stay away from MDF.
YMMV

Aren't kitchen used everyday? :=)
MDF would not be my choice just painted. There are definitely moisture issues. We used it once on windowsills. All sides sealed and polyurethened. When the HO washed the windows, swelling occured. Looked terrible As noted in previous post edges are easily damaged. Edge-treatment is also a cost factor.
My choice: plywood
