Chipped threashold in sliding glass door frame
I ran something heavy over the sliding glass door threshold and cracked a piece out of the track for the sliding screen door. I believe the plastic is PVC. I have attached a couple of photos showing the problem. I can think of several ways of repairing the chipped part, but I thought I would ask the experts to see if you have a better idea. It has to be a smooth repair so the screen door does not hang up. It also should look neat.

Best bet is to contact the manufacturer for a repair part. From the snow I'm guessing you won't be needing the screen door this week.
From the pictures it's hard to tell how much that track is integrated with the rest of the threshold. If it's a separate piece I'd try to find a roughly equivalent shaped piece that could be modified to fit. Gluing is a long shot, since you don't know what kind of plastic it is.
(Kind of a bad design to have thin plastic there on the threshold.)
try bondo. if it stick and works good, if not be easy to get off. tape both sides of that little trak and form the bump in two layers.
The frame is one piece, right? All 4 sides are one unit? Or is it a more expensive door and the frame can be taken apart?
I'd say it's a tough one. You
I'd say it's a tough one. You could probably do a nice job, but the fact remains that this area is likely to see a potential of a lot of abuse (e.g. people placing the arch of their foot on that area). If you have an exterior threshold of sorts that comes up level w/ the TOP of that track, a repair would be protected and you could get away w/ a variety of solutions.
One option is to go to another patio door manufacturer to see if they have an aluminum screen door bottom track that you can fasten to the existing sill after you cut off the remaining damaged vinyl track that exists. Or go to Home Depot and see if they have an aluminum T-channel that would work as a bottom screen track, cut off the bottom vinyl track and install the aluminum channel with finish screws.
Cant see an outside view, so I guessing here. Get a piece of pvc molding such as Azek, or Royal molding, and fabricate a piece to replace the entire fin that is broken. Cut off what is still existing of the fin. I'd make the replacement part from 3/4 thick material.
Now, if that's impossible, I'd glue a piece of the molding to the existing fin and fill in the broken area with a sliver of PVC. You should be able to glue it with the special PVC glue made for PVC moldings.
do you have the broken piece
if you do try gluing it back in using cyanoacrylate glue
available from Lee Valley and others
weird stuff but works on a lot of materials
i used it once to glue the glass base of a lamp that fell on the floor , you couldent see the repair after
Crazy glue may hold temporarily, but it becomes more and more brittle as it ages and would fall off after a few months, especially if exposed to sunlight.
Google "Sliding Screen Door Threshold Repair"
I've had multiple breaks in the plastic screen door threshold guide and have tried to just be very careful with I open and close the screen door. That worked fine until my grand kids came to visit. I'd have to reposition the screen after every visit.
I Googled "Sliding Screen Door Threshold Repair" and came up with this neat little gizmo:

I am ordering one tonight and will have my screen door fixed and ready for Spring.
Hope this helps.
Thank you. it's a valuable and informatic article , keep go on.
