I have to have my tar and gravel roofing replaced. I have rec’d a quote from a company to do an elastomeric roof. The cost is about 60% of a new tar and gravel roof. Is it a good deal? I live in Montreal so it gets pretty cold. Any problems associated with that? Any comments would be appreciated. thanks

As a contractor I love working with the EPDM roofing. Much easier to install and repair and great longevity also. Sometimes gravel ballast is used over it just for aesthetics, if it is very visible -- its appearance is the only real drawback.
