FC board fitted corners – possible?
I am using 8 1/4″ Hardiboard with a 7″ exposure on my old house, and was planning on simply using some 1×3 boards to wrap the outside corners. However, in the front of the house, there are some windows whose trim boards comes within 3″ of the corner — the cornerboards would actually sit higher than the window frames. So I’m thinking it would be nice if I could bypass the corner boards and fit the siding tightly together like you’d do shingles. However, I haven’t been able to make what I’d consider to be a nice straight flat cut on this stuff yet.
Anyone had experience fitting corners together this way with FC siding? Perhaps a grinder would help, but I can’t see making a real straight line with one. Do they make carbide belt sander belts? Or is there a better way?

I wove the corners of my FC siding the way you would do traditional cedar shingle siding. Find the angle and cut it with a diamond blade on a chop saw. DO NOT nail siding to siding (you can't). Let the corner float and toucjh it up with caulk and paint.
