First time poster here, I am having a new home built by DR Horton and stopped by to visit the construction site today and found this. I’m no expert with regards to construction or foundations but this obviously doesn’t seem right. This is from the foundation of a detached 20’ x 20’ two car garage. Anyone that can educate me as to why I should raise hell with the builder or why I should not worry about it, I would greatly appreciate it.

Perhaps you could tell us what we're supposed to be seeing.
Yeah, I would definitely raise hell.
Hey, I found it! The 4 tab aluminum can carrier! Apparently somebody was drinking on the job and wasn't keen enough to bury the evidence under the slab.
Thanks for the replies, yeah the 4 tab can carrier! I've been finding beer bottles on the job site since day one. Seriously though I was concerned with the 2 random cinder blocks that look like they were just thrown down there.
From all appearances this "foundation" is a slab for a garage/patio/whatever, and the area will be backfilled to within 2-4 inches of the top of the slab. The cinder blocks in there were probably tossed there to help stabilize the forms, and they do not represent a problem, assuming that the backfill covers them.
The brick on the left is pretty funky, however. Not good to have brick below grade, not good to have it without a solid backing.
I'm not seeing the 2x8 that Junkhound speaks of. There's a 1x on the brick column, but that appears to be temporary to me.
The blocks are fine. The lack of an apparent footer should bother you. They would pick up after themselves if you bought the beer.
or it could be the tabs for a 6pk of gatorade like the one in the same photo...
perhaps someone with less sarcasm and sufficient knowledge (more than mine) mightcome along and help you out, commenting on the way the brick veneer seems to be unbacked there where the slab terminates in a not so precise way.
Yep, the unbacked brick is one, the other is the 2x8 directly against masonry that does not look like it is presure treated, just lurking to rot.
This looks like the entrance to a porch or garage, vs. a foundation under a bearing wall? If so, not too concerned about the blocks.
to me..........
The 2x looks treated but the blocks and bricks definitely look funky, unprofessional and red flagging.......

foundation ?
I presume it passed inspectiion, but I understand your concern. It has that, "wham bam thank you mam", look. It's certainly not pretty.
stub out?
When I saw the first photo I thought the blocks might simply be a placeholder where some sort of utility or septic or drain pipe was going to be stubbed out through the foundation footing. Pour the concrete, pull the forms, crumble the cinder blocks with a hammer, and there's your stub out pipe(s), ready to be extended/connected.
But the second photo, showing it under what apears to be a garage slab is what makes me scratch my head.
Might just be buried treasure.
