Is higher better with an oatey pan liner?
I was wondering if it is better to go higher on the sides with a pan liner (I am using Oatey). I heard at least 2 inches extra on each side , but why not 1 foot extra?

There's a constant source of clean water for you to use, and all you have to do is collect it.

Most rubber liner material is run up at least 6" with your backer lapped over it.
Ok, I have about 1 foot extra and was wondering if I should cut it off, but I am guessing I should just run it up higher and leave it as is, right?
Run it as high as you can without penetration. Once you penetrate it, it does no good to go any higher. If you run it up an extra foot you will have a lot of backer board down there without nails. On the other hand don't bother to cut it off it doesn't hurt any thing either.
