Leveling pier blocks
I'm building a deck that is low to the ground. I'm going to hang the joists off the girders so that the whole thing is only about 10" off the ground. In other words there is only going to be a coupleo' inches under the girders annd joists. Not ideal I know. I figure I'm going to have to get all the piers level since I won't be cutting posts at each one. Are there adjustable post bases? Any other ideas to make this go easier?

I like to dig the holes first, then frame the entire deck with the posts in the holes, supported 8 inches from the bottom by 2 2x4s spanning the hole and screwed to the post.
This way the entire deck can be leveled, and once enough framing is in place to make sure nothing will move, pour the concrete, just making sure it is loose enough to fill under the posts completely.
This way you dont have to worry about cutting posts absolutely precisely, or worrying about making the top of your concrete piers perfectly flat.
Probably works better with smaller structures.

This seems like a good Idea!. Maybe I can just do that with the posts and girders. Thanks
