Anyone have a company they like to work with to buy Low Voltage lighting products and supples from? One with a good customer service line. Or is there a cateloue people like?
I have a couple of projects in addition to undercabinet lighting which I need some help with. I had a company I once had a very helpful on-line chat with, but have now lost that contact.
One very basic project will be to put a couple of puck lights on the underside of a mantel. I “think” I would have an outlet in the crawlspace in which I would plug a transformer, and then would like to run the low voltage wire to a small toggle switch (not a standard wall switch) on the undersidw of the mantel and run the wire onto the the pucks. What pucks, what toggle 9able to be recessed into the wood (chisel it out)????????
Thanks

Go to delphi forumn,, breaktime 3, and ask for Forrest (McDesign)
His company does low voltage LED lighting.
There is a specific thread there on undercabinet lighting.
If you are doing low voltage and it is NOT LED, something is wrong with you ?
Am surprised there are ANY low votage incandescent still in existence.

I would guess that within 5 years it will be silly to use any sort of lighting fixtures that are not designed for LED. The old Edison-based bulb will be a museum piece.

Don't recall ..
Dont' recall saying I was not using LEDs. Perhaps you miss read something. That is a frequent problem here.
Hafele.com.
Have a look at their "Look" systems. They have nice selection of fixtures in 12v, 24v, and 350-mA systems w/ very discreet switches tha "plug and play" into appropriate driver. Switches can surface mount or recess in a simple 5/8" dia bore. These switches have options for touch activiation and motion activation w/ dimming capability. We've switched to Hafele'sr online ordering vs. our local supplier for LED components. Customer service is excellent.
....i would plug in a transformer....
duh, LED don't work on ac, so yes, IMO you did say you were usning incandescents, and not using LEDs.
BTW, the D stnds for diode, them there devices iz one way current type thingys.. <G>
Your post #5 still did not say what you were thinking of using, just some complaint about reading what you wrote ?
Actually, LEDs work just fine with AC. But they need a lower voltage, and hence the transformer.
If you like flicker, eh?
Bored?
Art, don't you have anything to do? Get that knee mill going, finish the sawmill er something.

Hey, I finally did get all the LR bearings replaced, really runs nice - finally. OP stays right at 41 psi anything over 1000 rpm.
My attempt here at some type CPR?
Don't bother ..
He can't read yor post anyway, and thinks he knows it all already. LOL
Don't seem very bright
You really should not be offering advise here, you don't seem very bright or knowledgible.
Duh? You say duh? You do know you can get plug in transformers AND .... And wait for it ..... Hardwired transformers. No of course you don't know, otherwise you would not have been such a horse's.
And you might go back to that public grade school and brush up on reading. No where in my post did I mention LED or DC or AC. All your none sense is so basic and you think yourself brilliant.
I was just asking about suppliers. Of ciourse we have already learned you can't read.
Fleem woar, flem ware !
duh,, duh,,, wut you sai, duh...
ya still dinna say if ya wuz using incandescents. )wups, spieled dat right?
can we start a flame ware lik the gud ol days ?? most da smatter peeples left fer udder palces, sew U is left wit me an' dan? ,
didja knw tha;t TRANSFORMERS do not work on dc, so by defalt you sed ac?
So, wut type lites is ya uzing? Ya know, iffn ya try using them gow tubes wit the neon innem, dey do not werk at awl on low voltage, Mr. 'Passion' sez so.
OR, wait fer it..
iz u so dumb to stiel bee uzing them thingys that get hot cuz uvva glowing wire ?
all in good fun ?
Calvin: you can delete this if you like, just a feeble attempt to get some life back into the 'old place'.. The Taunton crew did me a few favors back in the '90's, so worth a shot ?
DoRight,
Junkhound is just pulling your leg. He is an Injunear. If you would follow my link and post your LED question at Breaktime3 Forrest will set you on the correct path and may even give you some LEDs.

You sir,

Just great. I bet he expects a holiday off from work in his honor now.
Calvin,

Hey calvin, I did get a good decent discussion going over at the jack rafter thread though, eh?
