Missing Sill Plate and Foam Insulation
Hello, my house built in the early 60’s does not have a sill plate, the floor joists rest directly on top of the poured concreate foundation. When looking at foam insulation options, I ran across a caution that by covering concreate walls with spray foam it could increase moisture at the sill becaused water wicking up in the concreate can only leave at the top. What options are available to address this? Jack up each joist 1/4 inch and insert foam sill gasket between the wood and the concreate? Are there any other options? The joists appears to be in good shape.
Thanks!

What is your climate? In much of the US the joists would already be seriously rotten in the situation you describe.
Also interested in location.
Also that the joist could be lifted; no anchors to foundation? - Must not be in a wind or sesmic location either or the whole house would likely have shifted by now?
The wicking caution only applies to closed cell type spray foam.
