I poured the pre slope, put the shower pan liner in, now the shower pan is in and some of it is chipping away and sandy. If i can i will include a picture. Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, this is not the time or place to have anything but a perfect mud job. If it's already sandy it should breakup into chunks pretty easy.
