Hi,
I just ordered some RTA cabinets and the boxes are 1/2″ plywood. The sides of the box slide into the face via a sliding dovetail joint and the back of the box slides into the sides via a sliding dovetail. The bottom of the boxes fit into a dado that is routed in the bottom of the face and sides. I’m thinking of gluing and clamping all of the joints as well as brad nailing (18 ga. 1.5″ brads).
Is this a good plan, or should I do something differently?
Is it recommended that the bottom be left unglued and unnailed for expansion/contraction?
The drawers are all 5/8 inch solid wood – dovetail assembly for the front, sides and back. Again, the bottom sits in a dado routed in the front, sides and back. Is clamping and gluing adequate for the drawers? Or should some brads be used here too?
Thanks!

Can't say about the rest, but it's usually recommended that the bottom be left unglued, with only one or two nails at the back end to secure it.
no instruction sheet?
Follow instructions from the manufacturer if any. If not it sounds like you could glue about anywhere mentioned except the drawer bottoms. Sounds like the drawer fronts and backs need glue [no nails here for appearance sake] but don't glue the drawer bottoms.
Thanks Everyone
Thanks - Yeah, no instructions from the manufacturer. But I think your guidance will be enough to get me through it. Are 1.5" brads a good length for 1/2" plywood?
