I have been looking for timber (beam) span charts with no luck. Was wanting to build a 10′ x 13′ flat roof pergola.
6″x 6″ posts at the corners
4″x 12″ beam on the 13′ span, overhanging the posts 15″ each end, will have knee braces at each post
4″x 6″ ‘rafters’ spanning the 10′, overhanging beams by 15″ each end
2″x 4″ purlins perpendicular to rafters @ 12″ oc
Where am I too light?

Hadn't thought about the hanging pots.
No way to know if the Owners won't put some sort of roof deck on this thing someday.
If they put an actual roof on it that's a whole 'nother animal. Around here anythng with a roof needs an engineer's stamp, due to the propensity for such things to take flight in a windstorm.
Rafter spacing?
You are fine for a 40# load if your rafters are 32" o.c. or less. Can't quite make 50# load.
Thank you Mike.
I was putting the 4x6 rafters 24"oc.
