Pole Barn addition. Bump out or Lean to?
Hey Guys and Gals?
I have a existing Pole Barn 30′ wide. I want to make a 10′ addition to the end of it.
OK, should I make a Lean To or bump it out?
Or if I bump it out should I use stick frame walls and set the trusses on that wall…………
Or should I use the Pole Barn poles and set them on the concrete that is already poured for the addition?
Can you guys help please.
Thanks,

If you keep the same roof line, you'll be able to add on again if you need to. With a lean-to you're pretty much done.
A shed would be cheaper but wouldn't look as nice. I'd go with the poles but I sure wouldn't just bolt them to the pad. The advantage of poles is that they provide the function of a footing and structural support all at once but they have to be driven deep to do so. There would be no point to use them at all if they will sit on a slab.
