Proper roof ventilation – metal over existing shingle
Thank you in advance for your advise.
I recently insulated my garage walls and roof with blown-in pink fiberglass atticcat. I first stapled a plastic vapor barrier on the inside of the 2×6 studs and now that completed noticed some condensation resting on the plastic in the attic. The roof is 2×6 rafters with a ridge nailer. I added small collar ties very near the peak just for lighting purposes which currently has two metal ceiling boxes.
My plan was to add metal roofing and 1.5″ foam sheets over an existing shingled roof as seen in the attached picture done by someone else.
Would this be enough venilation for the roof or should there still be sofet vents and ventilation under the shingled plywood raising to the peak?
