Remodeling old building. Changing wood floors, backfilling and pouring a slab instead. Framed exterior walls were framed and sat on the floor joist with no plate. The joists are rotting because of the direct contact with the poured walls and this is one of the reasons to do the slab. My question is how creative could a person get to support the exterior bearing walls long enough to remove joist and pour a slab under the exterior walls? Probably cannot do it from the outside and would have to be taken care of from the interior. I welcome any reply’s.
Thanks,
Larry

One can, of course, get quite creative. What works (without the building falling down) is a different matter.
(It would be helpful to know what sort of foundation the building currently has, and how big this building is.)
