Doing a garage addition to my house, front of house is a gable, 4/12 pitch, addition is on the side with the roof ending in the side wall 4/12 pitch also. Architect calling for venting where the roof meets the wall?? Anybody know of a product or procedure to do this? I would worry about water getting in if snow were to build up in that area. There is about 3′ from where the roof would end at the wall to the underside of the soffit.
thanks in advance

There are several takeoffs on "ridge" vents that are designed for this duty. Basically half of a ridge vent.
Hey Petey, There are products for this situation, but they are potentially leaky (water). Can you use closed cell spray foam and skip the venting completely? That will give you the best perfomance and eliminate the chance of bulk water entering through the vent.
