Greetings, all –
Any feedback out there from users of Xypex for waterproofing concrete? I recall when it came out there were some good reviews about it, but haven’t heard anything since.
‘Sposed to react on a molecular basis with the concrete to create a crystalline structure so fine that water can’t get through it. Some reading at …

Got a foundation coming up in a few weeks, and I’ve always felt that a spritz of asphalt is a total waste, so why not this stuff if it works? Also totally non-toxic and permanent.
Opinions??

I've used Xypex quite a number of times, including on my own house. It won't take the place of good drainage tiles, but in most of the cases where I used it, redoing the tiles was not an option.
Follow the directions exactly, and use it. It makes a big difference. I prefer to buy more, and trowel it on.Quality repairs for your home.

Well, not really.
If you use a masonary brush and lay it on, it's about as thick and has the disadvantage of being streaky. If you go on lightly with a trowel, you can do a little smoothing at the same time.
Where the frustration comes in is when you dampen down the stuff, it "melts" and looks blotchy.
