In a retrofit of a 1400 square foot 1923 two storey house, the homeowner would like to replace the existing cast iron radiators with flat panel european radiators. Keep in mind this is in a region where temps reach -40 F. Can this be done with equivalent heating and comfort and without outrageus cost ?

I really like those expensive flat panels. Outrageous cost is right.
They sure would look nice in a retrofit.
But there is nothing wrong with cast iron.
I'm grabbing the ones that are being removed from a friend's house.
