I asked that he not put any more holes thru the slate roofing. This is a bath ventilation fan. I’m not entirely sure, but I think the plumber will be out for blood on this one.

The recipe for linoleum hasn't changed much in nearly 170 years, yet it's still one of the greenest floors money can buy.

I agree, this was ridiculous.
But I have to say that yes, you were too vauge.
Where did you expect him to vent it ? Into the attic ? Out a side wall ?
The destination is not the point. The completion is not the point. Enjoy today. If you can't enjoy today, then what is the point ?
I bow before genius...
taking a second look, I notice he did install the 'T' upside down....
Dave,
Not that I am advocating this technique, but by placing the T in this direction you keep water from the roof out of the vent fan.

Landshark, we've already had at least 2 threads in the past couple, few weeks asking about doing this.
Seems to be an idea all too common. "Do not try this at home." ;-)
Too funny. ;-)

OK, so you're telling me I can't run two vent fans, the clothes dryer, the plumbing vent, furnace exhaust, and stove vent out the same 3" pipe? Sheeze, the other way is gonna make my roof like swiss cheese ;)

Geeze, I don't know why you can't.And while you are at it connect the inlet for the HRV.
And don't forget to add some flex pipe from the bath in the RV ya got parked out on the back patio.

Definately not code, and the conventional wisdom says it's a recipe for if not disaster at least some unpleasant consequences, but I'd bet a nickle it works just fine...
Obviously new construction.
Could'a been worse, he could have hooked the fan to a substack w/ a studer valve on top.
Actually I have to give him some credit, at least he vented the fan outside. Seems half my business is fixing other peoples great bathfan installs, "sure it'll be fine in the attic, the roof vents will get rid of the steam."
