putting cultured stone veneer over a log house

cdnseller's picture

hello all,

although some like the look of a squared beam log house from the outside, it is not historically correct for our area, and I think cultured stone has come along far enough visually - you may think different :^) .  We are also looking forward to installing some more insulation while we do this, as the 8" solid wood walls are not great insulators as - is

Question: mosture is always a concern.......does anyone have some knowledge of what the layers should be so we don't create a moisture trap and bring in rot.  we live in a northern climate (Ontario, Canada).

Thanks!
