Sauna heater 6kw shwo  (post #215626)

Hello I recently purchased a sauna heater and I'm trying to get it wired up but having trouble, I have a 220 V outlet dryer right next to where my sauna is  and we don't plan to use it frequently so I would like to be able to plug my 220 V Sauna into my 220 V dryer plug when I would like to use it - here are some diagrams and photos I would love someone's input and help. Presently I have a 3 prong dryer plug (30amp)

It's weird -- designed for a 380V 3-phase system, with the option to use at 220V.

Put the ground wire on 1, one hot wire on 2-3 (connected together), and the other hot wire on 4-5-6.  The neutral (of a 4-prong 240V plug) is not connected.

But this may not meet US code -- it doesn't appear that the unit is designed primarily for the US market.

So essentially are you saying leave the neutral disconnected totally? This photo is how I presently have it wired up, but the heater buzzes super loud.

Can you confirm that you are in the US?  Where did you get this heater?

Yes, I live in the U.S. I got the heater on eBay, out of L.A. - however fairly sure it was made in Hong Kong.
