I may be doing it wrong, but I can’t locate in the archives an article from a couple of years back about a bizarre stove by AGA (if you read the article, you know which one I’m talking about). I searched under “materials and products” / “kitchen and bath” – can anyone either email me that article or tell me where I can find it?

i think i remember mongo talking about the AGA a while back.. maybe check with him...
i know exactly what you are talking about. about a year ago i searched for it myself and gave up. it was designed for his blind wife who loved to cook, but couldn't adjust the temps
Search for AGA in the message archive here. It's a different database from the magazine index. Search box is at the bottom of the left hand frame. At least one of the AGA threads references the article you're looking for.
i just broke a sweat on that one......

CNBC just did a piece on AGA's on the show "Bullseye", neat stuff. Search their website and you ought to find something.

I don't understand the appeal. What's with these otherwise eco-fanatical europeans having a heating appliance that one cannot turn off in the summer?
In the UK an AGA is the cooker of choice for those that can afford it. They can be fired by oil or natural gas, and when the weather gets hot you just shut it down and look forward to when you light it up again in autumn.
It's not just the cooking, it's a lifestyle thing. Having an AGA in your kitchen is like having a Range Rover in your driveway
BTW, there are no better domestic cookers on the planet
