Kungur's picture

I am looking for a supplier of Black Natural Cleft Slate. I want to use it for a fireplace surround. I want slab not tiles.

Any ideas??

not sure what is "natural (post #185861, reply #1 of 2)

not sure what is "natural cleft" but I have 2 sources, old pool tables and blackboards, I get the later from a demo recycle store in town

Natural cleft is not smooth. (post #185861, reply #2 of 2)

Natural cleft is not smooth.  The slate has worn or split off an rough/ uneven layers.  Very nice as shingles or flooring.  May not be good for tables on which you intend to place stemmed wine glasses.

Flay your Suffolk bought-this-morning sole with organic hand-cracked pepper and blasted salt. Thrill each side for four minutes at torchmark haut. Interrogate a lemon. Embarrass any tough roots from the samphire. Then bamboozle till it's al dente with that certain je ne sais quoi.
