Rez bump,
RIP
Bumpitty.
Not dead yet. But on life support. And we're planning the wake.
I don't see much going on there either.
There's lulls, like anywhere, but it's steady and interesting and it'sa good crew. Including Calvin from time to time.
Ken and all...
I'll help you out and bring this up to the top for Rez.
but I have a suggestion. Offer free fries with it and maybe you'll snag some obese ones with an eating disorder. Could help with the volume over there....
.
Calvin,
Thanks. Could you make it a sticky? :) Maybe John could do the same at BT3 and get more people over here. Damn, I hate that this forum died.

Overall, interesting parallel at Taunton to Sears-Roebuck.
Some 'hotshot retailer' comes in with how to maximize profits, destroys the company.
Taunton like Sears in that rtegards.
Circa 1970, Sears catalog and retail stores in concert were the biggest game in town.
Then the 'retail gurus' decided that there was not enough profit margin at the retail stores and the catalog prices were undercutting retail, etc. so pretty much did away with the catalog and clearance stores.
If there had been an astute CEO (or some knowledgeable henchmen) Sears today could have been the combination of Walmart and Amozon rolled into one -- but kn, we gotta maximize retail sotre markups!
Ach well, I never had Sears stock. Quit shopping there long ago when they closed the 'bargain basement' and catalog outlets here.. Ya know they are in trouble when they throw the tools overboard to keep afloat?

The various swar-ays over here (with the links to the other BT's) since what's his name fug'd this place up........have gotten old.
I don't delete them.
the links don't bother me one bit but the "where all the old guys are" and "the real forum" lures do. WTF, people still enjoy kicking the old dog instead of letting it die on its own?
I've had a link to QT since running into Cadioli after the first civil war but have never remembered editorializing in its favor. Heck, it's still below even if absolutely no one goes there or here.
At any rate, one day this forum may actually appear on the real obituary and all will disappear. Till then, rock on and the best of luck.
the above may be a result of being swept by the yanks this weekend......
Calvin,
I would like nothing better than this forum to become alive like it once was. It's kinda self defeating when you see fewer questions and only a few answers. Even the arguments about solutions have died, ie Deadnuts and Mark.
JLC forum has gone downhill also. Where have all the tradesmen gone? Fakebook?
You may be the only reason this place has not followed Knots.

It's kind of sad that the most active thread here is one titled "Dead Forum".
And it's kind of curious that activity here did a major drop off the same time that they STOPPED logging us off every day. I wonder if there wasn't a software change made that's making it harder for some folks to visit.
Dan,
It is sad. It's sad that the magazine has gone after a new demographic and has forgotten their roots.

Nothing to say we can't have TWO active forums, if the content is there, maybe with two different flavours. Calvin does a great job with what is posted. I spent a few years checking in and out, but when I came back more seriously, this was my first stop. But yeah, I gravitated to the other one because of more activity, and I fell off from this one. Looking around today, found myself reading some zombie thread from 2003.
Anyway.... here is a fond memory of mine, and THIS forum, in a previous incarnation. 2003, May. I had been on the forum for 3-4 years or so. My daughter was born on the ninth, Breaktime was where I shared the news and pictures of my girl. She turns 18 on Wednesday. She was a toddler when I hosted the second Fest. Anyway, I'll check in here more and if others want to, maybe get this one a little more active again.
Ken and Adrian.....
good thoughts but there's not enough time in the day for most people, cept for Trumps 400 lb dude in a bed.
who the...WTF???
Wait a minute....who the HELL is KEN? I don't know any Ken's. I know a KK. Are you telling me KK is KEN?
Whoooooa.... I need to process this. I need time. This means a total rebuild. It's like that fucking Dallas 'it was all a dream the whole season' thing all over again.

Hope you all are getting satiated with all the pass throughs padding the numbers. I guess you geezers are all giddy pulling a fast one over on Taunton.
congratulations.
Big Cal,
You should thank me since this is the most traffic this site has seen in a while. I am glad you didn't say old geezer since Mike Smith would be upset and you might get a "bite me".

so, how many of these poached eggs have posted over there?
Thanks, Calvin...
... For all your hard work keeping this place together.
But I gotta say, I've found more content value, and more old pros, over at John's BT3. Plus, being an Old Fart, I don't like it when folks change formats on me. I find the Delphi format more user-friendly, but maybe that's just because I spent over a decade using it.
Good luck, though, and maybe someday we'll have lunch at Barry Bagel's in Perrysburg, as we've been threatening to do for so long!

Blast FromThe Past
Coming back here, I see in my history one of my favorite threads that I posted,
Solid-Timber Mantle Scribed to Stone (post #178641)
That was a fun job, and writing the thread helped me learn HTML stuff ... that I've now forgotten, of course...

Nothing to thank.
and............you like music, I don't like cream cheese. How about you pick a Friday and we'll meet at the Village Idiot, Conant St. in Maumee. Make it 5 o'clock so we might get a table. Old guys ( younger than us) get together and play. The beers cold and if you don't drink, they have water. Check them out on the web, see if it interests you.
Back to the topic at hand. This forum has been called dead or dying. Yet there's still an interest of some sort in it. Could be because there was no DNR notice posted or signed. Thoughts with no basis pop up in my head. That there old dog. Lawyers, accidents and business cards. Spite.
One good thing happened over the weekend. We picked off Erin Judge at first.
Calvin,
Could you ban Babacan or whatever his name is.
Thanks,
KK
A bump.
another bump
This is my first time logging in here in years, though I do pop in and read ancient discussions from time to time. This is the reason to log in: http://forums.delphiforums.com/breaktime_3/start
