Hi all
I have recently finished a remodel in Manchester, England and as we moved out all the floor protection I noticed a deep (1.5mm) gouge in the floor. Is there any quick fix trick or do I have to refinish the whole floor.
Many thanks

Tempting to build up close to the surface with epoxy and then finish the repair with a wax-stick.
What are the other dimensions of this blemish ?
*Depending on how wide the board is, one can scrape or sand out the scratch making sure to blossom out the sanding as to not create a divot in the board. Then remove all of the finish on the affected board and refinish that plank in full as you did the original floor. That way the repair will not appear in the middle of the board causing the eye to look at the distraction. The full board may look a slightly different color until the urethanes come into par within a few months time. Since most floor boards vary in color anyway, it will just look like a different board. Make sure you feather sand /scrape the affected board into the body of the floor so that the affected board does not look recessed into the floor when completed. GW
