We recently purchased a home that has a shed roof that abutts into a second floor exterior wall. The home also has a second floor bedroom to the right of the shed roof that has temperature fluctuations in the floor near where the shed roof runs into the house. In the winter that area is extremely cold nearing exterior temps and the same warmth in summer.
The shed roof has soffit vents but does not look like it has any exit ventilation so I suspect the air from under the roof is venting into that area under the bedroom.
So my question is does a shed roof need to be vented? Should I remove the soffit vents or add an exit vent in addition to sealing the area under the bedroom?

It sounds to me like the wall adjacent to the shed roof needs to be sealed and insulated.
It needs vented just like any other roof.
