I saw some 100 lb-rated full-extension drawer slides (22 and 24″) from Promark, for about $80-for a 10 pack- at Amazon. They seem well-reviewed (41 total) but at that price, I’m highly sceptical. Anyone with experience using these slides? I’m trying to source some longer (read longer than the 21″ slides at H.D.) slides but have not found any (except these) with good reviews. Rockler, not so much.
They don’t have to be soft-close; in fact, it seems the jury is out on the effectiveness of the soft-close variety, correct me if I’m wrong.
Also need several special slides for a wider application (36″) and have found some at Knape and Vogt but the distributor in my area is a ways from me and shipping will make it all expensive.
Finally, a cabinet maker has told my clients to buy only plywood with a layer of mdf next to the outer veneer or the inner layers will “bleed” through…can anyone tell me if this is something I should concern myself with? And if so, where does one find this magical, mystical mdf-layered plywood (client wants birch, which they were hoping to get at Lowe’s).
Thanks, as always.

Sounds too cheap. I've used KV8400 series American made slides which cost almost twice that per slide. KV did come out with slides in the price range of the Promarks. I called KV to find out what that was about. Seems they were having a less expensive slide made in China to provide a lower price point product. I picked up a cheaper slide that had mistakenly been mixed in with the betters ones and the difference was noticeable e.g. light gauge metal, flimsier feel. There are other slides of similar quality to KV....keep checking locally.
