Anything new drywall anchor products that are stronger than the tap in or threaded plastic sleeves but not in the molly or toggle class?

Well, I was gonna say that drywall makes lousy anchors -- it goes all mushy as soon as it hits the water. But ...
There are a dozen (or more) variations on those. The innovations I've seen in the past few years seem to be mainly along the lines of a plastic Molly, though the newer self-drilling threaded plastic anchors look to be pretty robust, and might be my choice in some cases. (But thankfully (for me) SWMBO hasn't embarked on any major redecorating projects in several years, so I don't have first-hand experience.)
Drywall Anchors
It is inevitable that SWMBO will do some remodeling in the future (in which you will be an active participant) so while there is a lull in this type of activity you could do some experimenting so that you will be prepared for when the call to action comes. We await the results of your experiments.
It's not that she doesn't have other projects for me, especially since this 38-year-old house is showing its age. I have some rotten trim to deal with today, unless I can find an excuse not to.
Rotten Trim
Rotten trim? Sounds like a job for AZEK.
Not if I want to match the existing trim.
looking for unicorns
Jimmie,
In all fairness asking for a strong drywall anchor that doesn't have a molly or toggle feature is like asking what's a good off-road vehicle that doesn't have 4 wheel drive and a low gear transmission.
Go with the E-Z anchor self screwing toggle from the box store. They are rated for 100#'s and easy to install.

Thank You. I've got boxes of toggles and mollys.....I was just wondering if somebody had invented a better mouse trap.
not on an island
In my opinion the E-Z anchor is a better mouse trap. If you or I had invented it, then we'd be sending our posts from some remote island we'd bought from selling the idea.
EZ Anchors
You must have missed seeing me on Shark Tank. FWIW I saw a couple of comments concerning using them on exterior insulated walls. They thought the insulation was interfering with the EZ anchor working correctly. I'll give them a try after I use up my large collection of mollys and toggles. Have you seen the tool for installing mollys? Costs abouts $70. I don't install enough mollys to justify the cost yet.
Jim
Look up the Toggler, from hilti among others. Easy Molly with the ability to remove screw w/o the damn "Molly" dropping down the wall.
