I am trying to compare vented natural gas fireplaces for my new home. It needs to be three-sided "pier"-type.
I have one quote for a Majestic brand for $2,112, and another for a Heat 'n Glo for $3,589 (exclusive of venting materials and install costs).
I'm inclined to go with Majestic and save $1500, but I need to know if they are reliable. Or put it another way, what is the extra money for the Heat n' Glo model actually getting me?
Also I can get a "builder version" of the HnG for $2,939. Apparently the main difference is that it comes without a separate control panel and without the ember bed installed. Is that a good idea?
