Garage door opener

I think I need a new garage door opener. Any preferences, brand, drive, model etc. It's 13' wide. Not very heavy.

22 yrs and no problems.  As soon as the sun comes up I'll take a look at the brand.

Sears sells a pretty good one.  Now where is that Sears store?

Chamberlin (post #216178, reply #4 of 4)

I installed two Chamberlain belt drive units this year to replace some 20 y.o.Crapsman units.

Chamberlian was the Sears vendors at that time, the similarities are quite obvious.

The new units work well, they are quieter than what they replace, the remote has greater range and keyless entry is provided. There are also add on modules that will close the door after a few minutes unattended or provide web acces to the door controls.

Install was not bad though the instructions are a bit vague to figure out. Despite a gap of six months, the second one went together must faster than the first.

IIRC, about $150 at Blowes.

IMHO, don't buy anything from Sears, who may not be around much longer.

Good luck.
