Hardwood sealant (post #192691)

I want to install 2 1/4 x 3/4 red oak flooring in a section of my house.  Wood comes with and without moisture sealant, which is a sprayed on material.

What does this do to the wood before, during, and after installation?  Does it impact the need to aclimate the wood to the house?

How much time and when should the wood be aclimated?  I have always been told to let the wood sit in the house for a month before installing it. and to let it sit after installation before sanding and finishing.

Thanks, Ted

Does anyone have a preference on the when and how long of letting wood aclimate?  before install, after install/before refinish?

The location is South Carolina, upstate.  We see some humidity.  Probably not as bad as at the coast.

I use a moisture meter to determin how long it acclimates, Too many variables to give a specific time frame . I like to shoot for close to 10% since down here in bayou land that is what interior MC on trim reads.
