How to run electrical in an existing concrete slab
Need to run electrical to a kitchen island.
There is some info out there online, but its all real murky on this topic.
When they put the original kitchen island in, looks like the scored a channel in the floor, used liquid tite conduit and covered that with with concrete patch. Very, very shallow trench.
Would happily do this again, since they had to pass inspection in order to do this.
Nothing in my code book about this.

There is no real rule about how deep the raceway needs to be buried in the concrete. Generally speaking, you are better off with plastic than metal. (corrosion problems)
This is going to be a pretty dirty job tho. You can get wet saws that will hold the dust down a bit but it is still messy. Usually you end up cutting 3 times, both sides and a slightly deeper one in the middle. Then it will chip out fairly cleanly.
