I am thinking of installing a pool heater to my 16×32 above ground pool in Michigan. I pulled a 20 amp circuit out there for the pool filter itself which I’m told will handle the heters demands fine. The problem I have is what type of pipe(i.e size, material etc) that is best to use? A few of my fellow tradesmen in the area all suggested the yellow flex pipe which I believe has the compression fittings that are used to connect it, but others suggested in additon to the cost of the pipe and fittings I may have to beef up my gas service to handle the increased demands of the heater. I was planning on borrowing a friends ditch witch and installing a 1 inch line to the heater ( approximately 80′ from house) I hope that you guys can help me out and give me some suggestions or tell me I’m nuts and to hire it out. Thanks
