Sahara,
you may want to look around locally for custom cabinet makers. That what I did for my house found a local outfit that made what I wanted quicker, cheaper and better than some of the stock larger brands in the stores. Look around though, I had much higher quotes for what I felt were lesser cabinets than I received.
Also, If you put your location in your profile, some of the proffesionals here may have a favorite in your area. Good luck, I hope you get the kitchen you've always wanted.
Thanks!
crown point are well made high end cabinets
Thank you.
Depends what you are looking for. Inset, overlay, framed, frameless, traditional, contemporary? There are so many options out there. I like Wood-Mode cabinetry. They cover all design aspects, construction is A-, finish is A++, price is $$$. I would say finish is better than anything out there. You should have access to a dealer anywhere in the U.S., and I would say if they are a Wood-Mode dealer they are probably reputable. Get recommendations anyway. I put in about 20 sets of these cabinets/year.
Only down-side is lead time on replacement parts. But my experience is about the same with any factory built cabinet. Ask to have a meeting with the designer and go over measurements and order together at the job-site. If you take some responsibility yourself, you will ensure the job comes out right the 1st time.
Try http://www.wood-mode.com
Good luck.
Thanks.
Poggenpohl. German-made, sold usually through very high end dealer showrooms only.

Thanks!
I'm a big fan of one man shops that turn out really high quality cabinets for reasonable prices. The problem is finding the guys who are doing it for the joy of working wood and not to make big $$. Asking around locally will point you in the right direction, but always, always, always ask for references and check their installed work.
Also, don't confuse cabinet maker with kitchen designer, being one doesn't make the other.
Don't judge quality by price. I can introduce you to a high price so-so cabinet maker who builds custom cabinets by the hour and moves around his shop at the speed of smell.
Happy holidays,
Don
If your not going to put your town/city in your profile at least let us know the state!
If your in Texas I can tell you one really good high-end cabinet shop!

Small Bone and Siematic.
But you'll be paying at least double for that last 10%.
Thanks!
