Need some theories-
I have a project in Washington State where the initial siding will be rough tex. T-1-11, fir plywood. I say initial siding because the eventual plan is to shingle the entire house, as budget and time allow, with cedar shingles. I am still very leary about housewraps in general, but realize that something needs to be installed behind the T-1-11. So the question becomes whether to install housewrap behind the T-1-11 then a layer of felt behind the shingles or what. Has anyone come across the situation where two housewraps are involved.
Thanks

Kim: I would use Red Rosin paper or 15# felt under the t-111 and 15# felt under the cedar shingles. There has been some discussions about the tannin in cedar reacting with Tyvex and possibly other house wraps. I work on some 100 year old home in my area and I always find tar paper under the shingles, but then again it was all they had. Why take a chance. Good Luck: Dale Buchanan
