an old pentium 1. All other programs are off and on occasion just a click on the scroll down to see the different forum topics and the thing will jam up on me and I’ve got to reboot. Sometimes it’ll even happen again. Never happened on the old site. Any suggestions or do I have to buy a new computer to get my daily fix? Thanks.

The recipe for linoleum hasn't changed much in nearly 170 years, yet it's still one of the greenest floors money can buy.

You could save what you need and wipe your hard disk of everything. Of course don't bother saving stuff like adobe or real player that you can download (a newer version of) for free. That said, I haven't done it myself because it's too scarey. I have excellent computer skills, circa 1979. But if it ain't an Apple II, I have little faith in my understanding of all the hardware and software.
Thanks Dave. I've got about 2/3 space left on a 3 gig hard drive. Do you think that would fix it?
The reason to wipe the disk and reinstall everything is not to increase disk space (although it does that as well). It is to completely uninstall all the programs that you added over the years. The little out-of-date applets that were used to view a paricular website in 1999, multiple anti-virus programs that slow down every file loading, overlays of operating systems, even low-level viruses running in the background. Then carefully choose what stuff you reinstall and try to keep it on the lean side if you want maintain a decent speed for another year or two.

Mine kept crashing, too. I fixed it with this:

thanks splint: It's good to be home again.
In general the "computer" does not cause those kinds of problems.
You did not give any details of what kind of system/software that you are operating.
But the first thing that I would look at is getting an update version of your browser or switching browsers.
