Painting crown moulding-Celing or wall color?
I am installing crown moulding in my living room. Three walls are one color and then there is the accent wall which matches the ceiling. Wife wants to paint crown same color as three taupe walls leaving a taupe strip on the accent wall which is the same color as the ceiling. I’m saying paint the crown the same color as the celing. What isthe general rule on this?

Whatever the wife wants.
It sounds like you have a bit of a modern feel in the house. Generally trim is painted with a color and sheen (satin to gloss) different from the ceiling (flat) and walls (eggshell). Is there other trim is this room? Baseboard or casings? What color are they painted? That is what I think the crown should be painted. But whatever the wife says is very good advice too.
Ceiling
I've always painted crown ceiling white. Doing so makes the room feel taller.
Yeah, but why would most people care that much about the room's feelings?
It's all about a room's self-esteem
lol

Good one. It's been a while since I've had a laugh regarding this forum. Note that I'm not laughing at the forum. Wouldn't want to hurt the forum's feelings and all.
Laugh and the forum laughs with you, cry and you only dilute your beer.
