jay,
One side of the top jamb should be screwed on. Unscrew, remove that half of the top jamb and you should be able to either remount the door, or get it out and repair/adjust the rollers. On occasion they mount stop to the jamb. The screws for the jamb sometimes are hidden under the stop. Newer house?

Thanks Calvin ,I will pull the door stop tonight. It is mounted to both sides of the jamb. I was reluctant to start pulling things apart because the trim is stained . I want to put in an outswinging door but my wife didnt like the idea. The home was built around 1982. Jay
On occassion jay, they nailed the top jam. Bum deal if it was done. A little more surgery will be neccessary. Being '82, you should have some luck locating parts. I think Johnson http://www.johnsonhardware.com/ has a site with PDF files showing their model breakdowns of parts. There's several different kinds usually pounded according to weight of door.__________________________________________

If you are real lucky, patient, and thoughtful it is possible sometimes to get a pry from below and force the rollers back onto the track. Be gentle however or you can bend things that you cannot see until after the replacement procedure that you are trying to avoid. Is the door down, or off to the side? The two that i had the pleasure of fooling with it was only the far inside wheel that was off. Try it, you might like it, but please be gentle. After all a two year old got it off, should be easy to fix, probably the last thing she will ever break though so no big deal.
Patience, patience, patie.....
have fun Dan
