I know someone here posted a link to a different type of pocket door lock a while back- It was a simple, mortised in toggling latch, set right by the jamb, on the door. You couldn’t see the lock until the door was completely shut. The door was locked by pressing the bottom half of the lock, and thus making the top half of the latch swing out next to the split jamb.
Can someone help me locate these things?

i don't know if this will help. there is a company called van norris that makes a super sexy pocket door lock. 350$ a pop (mind you thats in mountie dollars) web site could be interesting ....
