AGAIN I impose on your expertise! I am currently building a moderate house with a decadent porch. Has anyone had experience with the T&G floor product called Tendura? It looks great but seems inordinately expensive at 6$-7$ sq foot (our porch is huge). How does this compare to plain T&G treated southern pine or virgin growth fir (both in cost AND upkeep-the Tendura claims a lifetime warranty!). We plan on living in this house forever so it may be a long term investment …your advice is so appreciated! Thankyou

I don't know the answer to your question, but I'm thinking that the answer might depend on:
Is this an enclosed porch? or an open porch?

*I don't think anybody here has used it, I asked a couple times. The sample they sent me is very appealing in some ways, other than price.
*covered porch...15'deep and 72'long
*Don't get it confused with Judy Tenuda - looks great, but is very cheap!I always use T&G Fir or Cypress that is a true 1 1/16 inch thickness. There is a lot of strength with this dimension. Don't ever use the 3/4" crap. Treat all sides (cuts included) with preservative and prime before instaling. Don't forget flashing.I usually treat the top side with one coat boiled linseed oil before priming and top-coating with a real deck paint . The last coat (of three coats) should get plenty of non skid additive. On a covered deck you can expect 5-7 years between paint touch-up of the major path/wear track.
*I've put on a few philipene mahogany porch floors as part of restoration projects. good material, doesn't need paint, a good oil based sealer works well, but the last one I did shrank the minute the sun hit it! the customer didn't mind (or maybe notice) Water on any wood is a real killer too. Do you have large over hangs? gutters? Always question the term "lifetime" common house flies don't live very long!
