Recommended brands for neo-angle shower pans/surrounds?
Time is approaching to begin my next renovation project: corner (“neo-angle”) shower in the master bathroom. The inner corner walls are composed of 300×300 x 12.5mm marble attached directly to ordinary sheet rock (not by me), and it’s been leaking and rotting for the past several years. In order to remove/replace the sheetrock/marble I have to remove the neo-angle shower walls/door so I’m leaning in the direction of simultaneously replacing it with something different. The current shower surround and base pan are Kohler and they have basically served me okay, but after 20 years it has mold on the gaskets, water stains on the glass, –and our tastes have changed. Therein lies my question. Googling around, I see an awful lot of brands on the market now, from oldies like Delta, American Standard, Moen and Kohler, to new (to me) lines like Roda, Basco, Sterling (Kohler), Vigo, Dreamline, and Hansgrohe. I’ve also seen a number of negative reviews aimed mostly at one brand of frameless shower surrounds; I will probably go with a framed type, but I’d like to ask whether anyone here has specific brand experience with shower surrounds , either negative or positive. I’ll be ordering this from the US for installation in our Japanese home, so I don’t want to do it more than once. Thanks for any anecdotal advice.

I was going to suggest looking at Basco-they are an Ohio company and damn it I haven't had good luck with them. A while ago, the husband of a college friend was an official with the company............don't know if he still is. I talked with him about the product-and to date-have had no problem reported to me by any of my customers. I installed one Neo Angle from them I think.
So, just to be sure...........I looked up Basco Reviews..............................whoa.
I guess I won't recommend them eventho they are from Ohio............too much chance of a problem-I've never had any-installed a tub door just last month.
I think I have only installed a few other neo angle.......and the maker I'm not sure of.
I also use Splendor Shower Door Co. They are located (at least one of their manufacturing operations and showroom) just a few miles away. I get the complete package-they install what my customer picks out.
Never a problem with them either.
Best of luck.

Thanks, Cal. I like to look at online reviews, but without knowing the skill set of the installer/reviewer, it's sometimes hard to tell whether negative reviews are a result of the product itself or mistakes made during installation. I'd already looked at Basco and they do look nice--and, they're handled by Lowe's, which allows international orders (unlike another BORG I could mention).
Any other experienced voices out there?
